They are expecting around 30ish Unlimiteds at the minute - as well as Annette, the list includes the likes of Simon Reed, Nutty Nige is there and two other bears are booked and the entry also includes Willie Blackwell and another six pinkies! Looks like it wont b a bad session for an extra Unlimited meeting only added on the calendar 2 months ago!! I believe the full list will go on the TSR site late tomorrow or early Thursday.

PostSubject: Re: Kings Lynn king of the fens   Sat 11 Oct 2008 - 11:10

There is another big weekend of action at the Norfolk
Arena this Saturday and Sunday.

Unlimited Bangers were added onto Saturday's bill
late in the season at the request of drivers who
wanted an extra date to "use up theircars - and once
again it looks like another good turnout of big bangers
is on the cards and for the second meeting in
succession it looks as if the number of Unlimited
Bangers will outnumber their smaller counterparts.

Part of the reason for this is that both the Bears and Stinkbridge made welcome
announcements that they would be joining us during the week with the pinks
looking set to outnumber the red, white and blue cars by a factor of two to one.
Added to this is a welcome Unlimited outing for some of the Common Crushers
including 70 Anthony Long who should be at the wheel of a Mk2 Granada
Limo and the first visit for a long time from 33 Simon Reed who is expected to
bring the Austin 3 Litre which took a fruitless journey to Hednesford and back a couple of weeks ago. Probably the only other known material to
be coming to the meeting is a Chevy Caprice in the hands of 311
Garry Lown although hints have been dropped that there may also
be something used but slightly out of the ordinary for one of our
2008 Unlimited regulars.

Speaking of regulars, most of them are booked to appear with
292 Keith Saunders, 536 Annette Nicholls, 85 James Ellis and
185 Polly Reade all on the list and 160 Shayn Winsor continues
his 2008 comeback by racing at his third Unlimited event in less
than 2 months. Expect to see plenty more of him in the future!

As well as these, we are also pleased to have some unexpected
drivers on the list with 349 Michael Allard making his shale debut
as far as Unlimited Bangers are concerned and 849 Mick Lown
was also a surprise late booking.

Over 30 Unlimited Bangers for a Saturday night domestic in October can’t be bad going!

In the 2 Litre Bangers, the entry is a predominantly locally based one with track
championship contenders 361 Chris Walden, 88 Ash Burton and 385 Roy Gedge all
booked in to see if they can outscore each other and get an advantage as the season
nears its close. Team Crash are represented by 90 Simon Chapman, 638 Michael Walls
and 639 Stick and no doubt 292 Keith Saunders and 791 Spud will be seeking each other
out for some more crashing fun. The most interesting driver on the list is PRI young
gun 577 Alfie Lee who was a race winner at the Arena World Final meeting last month
and if he can adjust to the shale, he could easily take another victory here this evening.
It’s good to see another new face here.

sounds a not bad night,i'll get the official updates off ovalchat.

Pretty poor meeting (the 2 litres were like watching paint dry!) about 34 unlimiteds with 6 TSB and 4 Bears. The first race WAS good with TSB and the Bears doing most of the field and then themselves, the second had no bears and just 2 TSB and was very VERY tame and was won (like the first race) by Reddin. The last race had 3 Bears and 4 TSB's but the Bears were wrecks and only lasted a couple of laps, a bit better race than the second but was won by Ellis without a scratch on his car!!..left after the Saloon Final, had seen enough by then!!!..

dd had 3 bears and 3 stinkbridge, nutty nige did a monster hit on hields then got done by 409 carlos, thats about it

I thought the meeting was good tbh. Could of bin better but why moan its great seeing the drivers get the rwd sideways and 148 Shorty was driving like a pro as usual. Anyway photos from this meeting are now on my website.

PostSubject: Re: Kings Lynn king of the fens   Wed 7 Oct 2009 - 14:26

Another great night of Stock Car and Banger Racing is on the horizon at the Norfolk Arena this Saturday 10th October when the Unlimited and 2L Bangers both play host to their King of the Fens Meeting whilst the young talent which currently abounds in Big Banger Racing will also be showcased in the 25 & Under Championship of Great Britain.

It promises to be a great night of action from the unlimited Bangers with around 60 cars booked to race as of Tuesday night - and with a few regular names missing, that list could well increase come meeting time on Saturday.

For many drivers in action, the highlight will be the 25 and Under Championship of great Britain which is almost completly fully booked. The best of the north's Young talent will be represented by the leading young guns from the Common Crushers, Wild Boys and Team Stinkbridge all booked in for action.

The midlands see plenty of their rising young stock in display with 128 Mark Atkins perhaps the pick of the bunch given his fantastic performances at the Norfolk Arena which were topped off witha runner up spot at the last meeting. 269 Martin French and 800 Romeo are always on the pace at the Norfolk Arena whilst 362 Matt Godden will be hoping he can transfer his Coventry form to Lynn.

Hopes with the promotion are in very capable hands indeed with 385 Roy Boy, 349 Allard, 572 Squirt, 673 Fendley and 791 Spud all short odds to land the title. All are great performers at Lynn in a variety of classes of Bangers and will be looking to win this inaugural event.

Some drivers with very limited experience will be hoping to make a big impact in the sport by sounding their arrival in this race. drivers such as 340 Wesley Freestone, 316 Shaun Haller, 136 Adrian Court and 382 Jack Foster Jnr may all be amongst the youngest on the grid but will be determined to shine well.

As well as the 25 and Unders there will also be a heat for the older drivers in action before everyone progresses to the King of the Fens final where 148 Ian "Shorty" Redden will be looking to continue his recent good run in big banger races by successfully defending the title he won last year. Other top stars include 85 James Ellis who will be looking to keep his momentum at the top of the points going whilst 160 Shane Winsor, 348 Sonny "Mushy" Sherwood, 119 Davey "Cruncher" Cox and 555 Sam Gelsthorpe will all be looking to keep the momentum they have shown in the big bangers continuing. Other names that people will be looking out for include the Stinkbridge trio of 451 Willie, 450 Glyn and 455 Ricky whilst 269 Dean French and 313 Cully have been in fantacstic form when they have raced at Lynn.

A computer problem has seen most of the 2L Banger entry lost. A 30+ entry of 2L bangers is expected to be in action though with 119 Cruncher, 7 Mr Humpty, 160 Winsor and 385 Roy Boy both having busy night as they race in both formulas. Amongst those looking to impress in the 2L Bangers are 361 Walden, 390 Gibson and 247 Bro.

The 2L Stock Cars have been spectacular in the extreme at Lynn in 2009 and another classic is in prospect with no less than 36 cars booked for battle . 511 Craig Barnett currently leads the track champoinship although 219 Luke Grief, 149 Jamie Sampson and 115 Scot Aldridge will all be doing their level best to reduce the deficit this Saturday!
