"A night of spectacular colour, sound, magic & exceitement never to be forgotten!"

Halloween Carnival Night, the biggest event of the year comes to the Norfolk
Arena this Saturday (6.30pm).

This event has established itself as a firm favourite with long standing fans and
casual family fans alike and these two groups combine to produce a red hot
atmosphere which will linger long in the memory.

Over 100 cars will be in action with the two top disciplines of racing sending their
top stars into gladitorial action! Banger dirvers are competing in cars with history
in the annual Pre 70 Banger crashathon - as the name suggests drivers will be
wreaking havoc in cars which were built before 1970. This means that the newest
car in action will be at least 38 years old and the oldest car booked to be destroyed
is over 70!

Stock Cars are being represented by the biggest and most furious formula in Europe
- BriSCA F1 Stock Cars. The cars are big and powerful - they generate 650bhp each
and being full contact the spectacle has to be seen to be believed!

Off track there is also plenty to look forward to including the annual Halloween
Fancy Dress Parade which is open to everyone, young and old, who comes in
fancy dress - and there are special goody bags for everyone who goes on the
parade and a gigantic fireworks display which is set to music.

As well as being a big night for Stock Cars,
Fireworks and Fancy Dress, Halloween Carnival
night is also one of our biggest nights for the
Bangers when we gather together the coolest
cars to be seen all year at the Norfolk Arena
for the pre 1970 classic car Banger session.

It probably makes no sense, but the number
of classic cars we see raced to destruction at
this meeting has steadily increased over the
years. In the early part of this century we were
seeing entries of between 30 and 45 cars but
for 2006 this grew to a massive 70 car entry.
That was a truly exceptional number of cars
but we were still more than pleased when 54
classics turned up to race last year and with
bookings standing at 57 drivers at the moment
the buzz surrounding this meeting certainly
hasn't dropped away for 2008.

The star car on show on Saturday will
undoubtedly (unless somebody has got a massive
surprise for us!) be the Austin 10 Cambridge to
be raced by 581 Simon Fixter. Mr Fixit has raced
a lot of very cool Bangers during his racing career
but the Austin 10 is certainly the best of these
so far for Mr Fixit and one which everyone is
likely to paying a lot of attention to before the
meeting starts!.

Some of the other cars which stand out as being that bit older and that extra bit rarer than many of the
rest are the Wolseley 4/44 of 282 Bobby Daniels and the Peugeot 403 of 673 Darren Fendley. The strange
thing about Fendley's car is that it is still cool even though it is a product of the French automobile industry!

The most dominant car in terms of numbers tonight will be the trusty Triumph 2000 which has definitely
taken over as the most readily available Banger for these sorts of meetings. Only a few years ago, the A60 family of cars were the most popular car having plenty of weight
behind them and good solid body shells but the numbers have
dwindled quite quickly. Top A60 this year looks set to be the
Morris Oxford Fintail of 970 Bob Turner which Bob estimates
to have been lying about in his stock of cars for 14 years!

The rest of the entry list confirms just how dominant Britain
once was in the car industry. We have Fords such as the
Consul, the Zephyr, the Zodiac and the Cortina. We have a
Daimler Conquest. There are various guises of the Rover P4
and P6 models. We have a Standard Vanguard, a Vauxhall
Victor and various examples of the Rootes group including
Hillman, Humber and Singer. In fact, other than the Peugeot,
the only other cars from continental Europe are the Volvo
Amazons and Volvo 144 which will be raced by 269 Greg
Mulligan.
