26 Jeron Muller (CAMSO)
It remains to be seen if this rising star on the continent makes the trip to Suffolk for what we believe would be his first appearance on UK soil. Certainly took the CAMSO scene by storm in 2008 with some great performances including a podium finish in the European which will put him in great stead should he appear here.
27 Dale Hughes (Spedeworth) World Champion
The Kent based racer scored his biggest win ever in November with a cool and confident drive to the World title at Ipswich and looks set to enjoy a full on year with the gold roof including a return to Mildenhall, a track which he has excelled on in the past. With a couple of well known Condom enemies in this one, he could possibly be kept busy on the crashing front, an area he is more than capable in, but should he get the breaks and the chance for winning present itself it would be very foolish to bet against him.
30 Roy Laybourn Jnr (PRI)
Without doubt one of the top newcomers to the sport in recent years, the RDC Ministox graduate debuted in July 2007 before enjoying a sensational first full season last year. Duel licensed with RDC but spent most of his time at PRI where he enjoyed much success, leading the track championship at one stage before ultimately finishing third when the points race was cut short. Now alligned with the Blue Crew which should mean a lively night here with both sides represented, he impressed against the Midnight Runners in the British in July, a race he went very well in during the early stages so don't count him out.
37 Dave Lewis (RDC)
The former National Champion and reigning Small Car Series champ remains one of the real unsung stars on the RDC scene rarely getting the credit he commands despite finishing on the podium in the Mildenhall track championship in the last two years, taking the runners up spot 12 months ago. Looked on course for a strong finish in last years race until a late crash wiped him out and should he go the distance this time he is certainly one not to rule out and a very good outside bet who may benefit from not being considered a pre race favourite.
53 Dave Palmer (RDC)
A strong finish in the Masters Championship secures the long serving RDC pilot a return to the Supreme Championship grid. Spends most of his time racing at Dover but still visits West Row for the big occasions and should not be overlooked here as he has earned big results here in the past and remains more than capable of doing it again. Likely to be involved in any on track feuding involving the Condoms but should he be able to remain trouble free and receive a decent draw then a top six finish is most likely.
58 Martin Dalton (Mendips) Mendips Track Champion
2008 was a great year at Mildenhall for this long serving racer, winning the highly destructive Suffolk Open and almost taking the final at the 2litre RWD bash a month later to underline his form on the shale while elsewhere he also finished on the podium in the Coventry Masters. Also visited Mildenhall last year for the Suffolk Open teams and British so no stranger to the raceway now although he would have probably preferred this one in an unlimited format. A strong contender to spring a podium finish.
66 Dave Spooner (Autospeed) 2Litre World Champion
The chief Renegade enjoyed another very busy season last year which included more than one visit to Mildenhall. Was delighted to put the team colours on the grid 12 months ago and should be even prouder to do it again in 2009 with a gold roof to boot following his well received 2litre world win at Hednesford in October. More than capable of a strong showing here and challenging for the podium but Mildenhall has a habit of bringing out his crashing side which could lead to a lively performance instead. Either way he'll be a factor.
67 Mark Whittaker (Buxton)
Despite failing to race at Buxton during 2008, Sparky represented the promotion in many of the biggest races of the season including the thunderstorm hit British Championship where his trophy spot earned him a return to the Supreme championship grid. We saw more of Sparky at Mildenhall in 2008 than recent years and he rarely didn't make an impression and he has a habit of excelling in the title races as he proved again in the British last summer. With a lack of high profile enemies on the grid he could be a serious contender here.
73 Dean Cruickshank (TSR)
Over the years we have seen more and more of the Brampton based contingent competing on the national scene and they have often injected plenty of action into things. One of the brighter lights is Crucko who has been quietly building a reputation for himself and is capable of some crash happy performances and scoring some decent results. This would be his biggest race to date should he make the trip and he'll look to make the most of it, a top 10 would be a real achievement while it would be no surprise to see him buried in someone’s boot.
88 Alan Reed (RDC)
One of the main talking points in 2008 was the amount of stars of yesteryear who returned to the scene after various periods away and one of the biggest was former world champion 88 Speedy whose return at the Mildenhall pre 70 was one of the stories of the year. The first ever Supreme Champion and the only driver to ever win the event twice returns to the grid under the previous champion rule and is likely to inject something to the race but his choice in car will determine just what that is. Either way it will be great to have him back at such a grand occasion.
88 Ash Burton (TSR)
A return to TSR in 2008 brought great things for rising star Ace Ash who finished strongly in the King's Lynn track championship but still found things slightly difficult on his visits to Mildenhall where he is still without a big performance to his credit and that is something he keen to put right here. Gaining more and more confidence all the time and well overdue a strong championship performance he has all the tools needed to thrive here as the meeting format and racing surface will be very much to his liking. A good draw and a trouble free first five laps could be all he needs to make a big challenge here.
99 Steevie Van Goetham (CAMSO) European Champion
The reigning and two time European champion books a return ticket to the grid although in all honesty it would be a great surprise to see him race here given his limited experience in the UK in the past.
119 Davey Cox (TSR) National Champion
The second driver to take advantage of the previous champion rule is Cruncher who returns to old promotion TSR for the first time in around a decade in 2009 and if his early season form is anything to go by then the change looks to have given him a real boost as his Icebreaker display was one of his finest in some time. Played a huge role in last years Supreme, costing 247 Lee Clarke the title in a thriller of a last bend. Remains to be seen how this years race will play out for him, capable of a big finish or spoiling someone else's chances but either way he'll make an impression.
131 Barry Wade (RDC)
Former British Champion squeezes onto the grid to replace the unavailable Lee Overy and will be looking for another big Mildenhall title race performance. Seems to be very much all or nothing when it comes to title races at West Row as was proved last year when he failed to manage a lap in the Supreme but finished on the podium in the British. This race however is certainly up his street and the more cars and the more mayhem the better as Wadey has an uncanny knack of surviving all which is thrown at him and finishing strong.
158 Shane Davies (Spedeworth)
Another former Supreme Champion who cut back on his banger racing commitments in 2008 to concentrate on his stockcar at Spedeworth. Still earned a place in the Ipswich World Final where he finished a fine third to display his big race form is as impressive as ever. Enjoyed mich form with the Condoms last year as they won the National and European titles. Has yet to confirm whether he can attend this one or not but should he make the trip many will expect another chapter of his long running war with Jack Overy but should they remain apart there is no reason why he couldn't lift the title again.
183 Paul Hunter (PRI)
A long serving and often overlooked and underrated PRI performer who has quietly earned many impressive achievements over the years but has rarely matched his Arena form at West Row and would love to try and put that right here. A dark horse simply because of his lack of Mildenhall success but has the experience and the know how to shine here if given half a chance.
188 Matt Fuller (PRI)
The 2007 champion entered a most impressive defence last year, finishing second in the highly destructive title race. The former three time world champion played a major role in the Midnight Runners war with the Blue Crew which is likely to continue here and he will no doubt be well up for the battle. But then again we said last year about the amount of on track rivals the Runners had 12 months ago and he still finished on the podium to again underline his ability as one of the sports finest. One to watch.
188 John Reeves (RDC)
Last years Supreme Championship was a fairly rotten event for Victor who also saw his race ended in a lap. Will be keen to recapture his 2007 Supreme form where he followed up a strong showing in the title race where he almost scored a podium finish by winning a rated allcomers race as the last car running. One of RDC's most dedicated in 2008 which was rewarded with a well deserved second in the National Points and a place in the Ipswich World Final. One of the contenders to win the RDC Points in 2009 and a strong showing here would be a great start.
190 Steve Bailey (Autospeed) Autospeed Points and Accumulator Champion
After making many trips to Mildenhall over recent years Pikey's efforts were finally rewarded in October with a faultless drive to win the Accumulator title, no mean feat from near the back of a 50 car grid. Still overdue that truly massive championship to match his amazing dedication to the sport but it remains to be seen if this is the opportunity as he is likely to be well involved in the ongoing Blue Crew v Midnight Runner war, a battle which has brought out the best in him many times over the last few months. Will start with many eyes on him.
198 Marcus Goldsmith (Mendips)
One of the sports long serving campaigners whose return to more active racing in the last couple of years has been well received and a strong display in the PRI World books his appearance here. Has been making more and more frequent appearances to West Row in recent years and always enjoys his trips while never having the greatest amount of success and will be looking to put that right here. More than capable of great things in this race,
202 Mike Kilford (Spedeworth)
Another seasoned campaigner who is no stranger to Mildenhall or the Supreme Championship although another who is still without a big finish in this race and is well overdue some success at Mildenhall. Would have probably preferred this to have been under unlimited rules but still more than capable in the typical 2litre format. Will be looking to use his experience to his advantage and should he get the breaks needed there is no reason why he will not be a front runner.
206 Dave King (Spedeworth)
Yet another long serving racer who is the verge of being a true Spedeworth legend. Made more than a few trips to Mildenhall in 2008, a track which always seems to bring out the best in Kingy as showed with his gutsy third place finish in last years Supreme as well as he devastating display at the Suffolk Open. This race will be very much to his liking with survival skills more important than speed and if he goes the distance again he'll be in contention.
