26 Jeron Muller (CAMSO)
It remains to be seen if this rising star on the continent makes the trip to Suffolk for what we believe would be his first appearance on UK soil. Certainly took the CAMSO scene by storm in 2008 with some great performances including a podium finish in the European which will put him in great stead should he appear here.

27 Dale Hughes (Spedeworth) World Champion
The Kent based racer scored his biggest win ever in November with a cool and confident drive to the World title at Ipswich and looks set to enjoy a full on year with the gold roof including a return to Mildenhall, a track which he has excelled on in the past. With a couple of well known Condom enemies in this one, he could possibly be kept busy on the crashing front, an area he is more than capable in, but should he get the breaks and the chance for winning present itself it would be very foolish to bet against him.

30 Roy Laybourn Jnr (PRI)
Without doubt one of the top newcomers to the sport in recent years, the RDC Ministox graduate debuted in July 2007 before enjoying a sensational first full season last year. Duel licensed with RDC but spent most of his time at PRI where he enjoyed much success, leading the track championship at one stage before ultimately finishing third when the points race was cut short. Now alligned with the Blue Crew which should mean a lively night here with both sides represented, he impressed against the Midnight Runners in the British in July, a race he went very well in during the early stages so don't count him out.

37 Dave Lewis (RDC)
The former National Champion and reigning Small Car Series champ remains one of the real unsung stars on the RDC scene rarely getting the credit he commands despite finishing on the podium in the Mildenhall track championship in the last two years, taking the runners up spot 12 months ago. Looked on course for a strong finish in last years race until a late crash wiped him out and should he go the distance this time he is certainly one not to rule out and a very good outside bet who may benefit from not being considered a pre race favourite.

53 Dave Palmer (RDC)
A strong finish in the Masters Championship secures the long serving RDC pilot a return to the Supreme Championship grid. Spends most of his time racing at Dover but still visits West Row for the big occasions and should not be overlooked here as he has earned big results here in the past and remains more than capable of doing it again. Likely to be involved in any on track feuding involving the Condoms but should he be able to remain trouble free and receive a decent draw then a top six finish is most likely.

58 Martin Dalton (Mendips) Mendips Track Champion
2008 was a great year at Mildenhall for this long serving racer, winning the highly destructive Suffolk Open and almost taking the final at the 2litre RWD bash a month later to underline his form on the shale while elsewhere he also finished on the podium in the Coventry Masters. Also visited Mildenhall last year for the Suffolk Open teams and British so no stranger to the raceway now although he would have probably preferred this one in an unlimited format. A strong contender to spring a podium finish.

66 Dave Spooner (Autospeed) 2Litre World Champion
The chief Renegade enjoyed another very busy season last year which included more than one visit to Mildenhall. Was delighted to put the team colours on the grid 12 months ago and should be even prouder to do it again in 2009 with a gold roof to boot following his well received 2litre world win at Hednesford in October. More than capable of a strong showing here and challenging for the podium but Mildenhall has a habit of bringing out his crashing side which could lead to a lively performance instead. Either way he'll be a factor.

67 Mark Whittaker (Buxton)
Despite failing to race at Buxton during 2008, Sparky represented the promotion in many of the biggest races of the season including the thunderstorm hit British Championship where his trophy spot earned him a return to the Supreme championship grid. We saw more of Sparky at Mildenhall in 2008 than recent years and he rarely didn't make an impression and he has a habit of excelling in the title races as he proved again in the British last summer. With a lack of high profile enemies on the grid he could be a serious contender here.

73 Dean Cruickshank (TSR)
Over the years we have seen more and more of the Brampton based contingent competing on the national scene and they have often injected plenty of action into things. One of the brighter lights is Crucko who has been quietly building a reputation for himself and is capable of some crash happy performances and scoring some decent results. This would be his biggest race to date should he make the trip and he'll look to make the most of it, a top 10 would be a real achievement while it would be no surprise to see him buried in someone’s boot.

88 Alan Reed (RDC)
One of the main talking points in 2008 was the amount of stars of yesteryear who returned to the scene after various periods away and one of the biggest was former world champion 88 Speedy whose return at the Mildenhall pre 70 was one of the stories of the year. The first ever Supreme Champion and the only driver to ever win the event twice returns to the grid under the previous champion rule and is likely to inject something to the race but his choice in car will determine just what that is. Either way it will be great to have him back at such a grand occasion.

88 Ash Burton (TSR)
A return to TSR in 2008 brought great things for rising star Ace Ash who finished strongly in the King's Lynn track championship but still found things slightly difficult on his visits to Mildenhall where he is still without a big performance to his credit and that is something he keen to put right here. Gaining more and more confidence all the time and well overdue a strong championship performance he has all the tools needed to thrive here as the meeting format and racing surface will be very much to his liking. A good draw and a trouble free first five laps could be all he needs to make a big challenge here.

99 Steevie Van Goetham (CAMSO) European Champion
The reigning and two time European champion books a return ticket to the grid although in all honesty it would be a great surprise to see him race here given his limited experience in the UK in the past.

119 Davey Cox (TSR) National Champion
The second driver to take advantage of the previous champion rule is Cruncher who returns to old promotion TSR for the first time in around a decade in 2009 and if his early season form is anything to go by then the change looks to have given him a real boost as his Icebreaker display was one of his finest in some time. Played a huge role in last years Supreme, costing 247 Lee Clarke the title in a thriller of a last bend. Remains to be seen how this years race will play out for him, capable of a big finish or spoiling someone else's chances but either way he'll make an impression.

131 Barry Wade (RDC)
Former British Champion squeezes onto the grid to replace the unavailable Lee Overy and will be looking for another big Mildenhall title race performance. Seems to be very much all or nothing when it comes to title races at West Row as was proved last year when he failed to manage a lap in the Supreme but finished on the podium in the British. This race however is certainly up his street and the more cars and the more mayhem the better as Wadey has an uncanny knack of surviving all which is thrown at him and finishing strong.

158 Shane Davies (Spedeworth)
Another former Supreme Champion who cut back on his banger racing commitments in 2008 to concentrate on his stockcar at Spedeworth. Still earned a place in the Ipswich World Final where he finished a fine third to display his big race form is as impressive as ever. Enjoyed mich form with the Condoms last year as they won the National and European titles. Has yet to confirm whether he can attend this one or not but should he make the trip many will expect another chapter of his long running war with Jack Overy but should they remain apart there is no reason why he couldn't lift the title again.

183 Paul Hunter (PRI)
A long serving and often overlooked and underrated PRI performer who has quietly earned many impressive achievements over the years but has rarely matched his Arena form at West Row and would love to try and put that right here. A dark horse simply because of his lack of Mildenhall success but has the experience and the know how to shine here if given half a chance.

188 Matt Fuller (PRI)
The 2007 champion entered a most impressive defence last year, finishing second in the highly destructive title race. The former three time world champion played a major role in the Midnight Runners war with the Blue Crew which is likely to continue here and he will no doubt be well up for the battle. But then again we said last year about the amount of on track rivals the Runners had 12 months ago and he still finished on the podium to again underline his ability as one of the sports finest. One to watch.

188 John Reeves (RDC)
Last years Supreme Championship was a fairly rotten event for Victor who also saw his race ended in a lap. Will be keen to recapture his 2007 Supreme form where he followed up a strong showing in the title race where he almost scored a podium finish by winning a rated allcomers race as the last car running. One of RDC's most dedicated in 2008 which was rewarded with a well deserved second in the National Points and a place in the Ipswich World Final. One of the contenders to win the RDC Points in 2009 and a strong showing here would be a great start.

190 Steve Bailey (Autospeed) Autospeed Points and Accumulator Champion
After making many trips to Mildenhall over recent years Pikey's efforts were finally rewarded in October with a faultless drive to win the Accumulator title, no mean feat from near the back of a 50 car grid. Still overdue that truly massive championship to match his amazing dedication to the sport but it remains to be seen if this is the opportunity as he is likely to be well involved in the ongoing Blue Crew v Midnight Runner war, a battle which has brought out the best in him many times over the last few months. Will start with many eyes on him.

198 Marcus Goldsmith (Mendips)
One of the sports long serving campaigners whose return to more active racing in the last couple of years has been well received and a strong display in the PRI World books his appearance here. Has been making more and more frequent appearances to West Row in recent years and always enjoys his trips while never having the greatest amount of success and will be looking to put that right here. More than capable of great things in this race,

202 Mike Kilford (Spedeworth)
Another seasoned campaigner who is no stranger to Mildenhall or the Supreme Championship although another who is still without a big finish in this race and is well overdue some success at Mildenhall. Would have probably preferred this to have been under unlimited rules but still more than capable in the typical 2litre format. Will be looking to use his experience to his advantage and should he get the breaks needed there is no reason why he will not be a front runner.

206 Dave King (Spedeworth)
Yet another long serving racer who is the verge of being a true Spedeworth legend. Made more than a few trips to Mildenhall in 2008, a track which always seems to bring out the best in Kingy as showed with his gutsy third place finish in last years Supreme as well as he devastating display at the Suffolk Open. This race will be very much to his liking with survival skills more important than speed and if he goes the distance again he'll be in contention.

PostSubject: Re: Mildenhall supreme championship   Sat Mar 07, 2009 6:16 pm

208 Jimmy Randell (PRI)
One of PRIs top young guns and an often underrated and overlooked member of the Midnight Runners. Still without a big title win to his credit but came close in the World Final at Hednesford last year. Might be too busy with the ongoing issues with the Blue Crew to go for the big win here but should a chance for glory present itself he'll be going for it and he is more than capable of a top finish in this one which would be richly deserves,

218 Rob Speak (Startrax) King of the Peak Champion
Without question one of the biggest names in stockcar racing of all time and currently enjoying a great run in bangers, retaining the King of the Peak last summer before winning the unlimited Heavy Metal Classic in January and enjoying a fine outing at the Heartbreaker in February. Remains to be seen if he accepts this invitation but he would be a quality addition to the grid if he did and a joy to see him back at West Row and he would certainly be one to watch.

247 Lee Clarke (Spedeworth)
The nearly man of last years race, Bro will forever wonder what if as he still chases that major championship win which is surely now just a matter of time away. One of the sports top young guns but so desperately wants the big win to go with the potential. Has really improved as an all rounder over the last year or two and is now just as capable as a crasher as a racer so will be more than able to get his hands dirty should he need to here.

271 Dean Goodall (PRI) World Cup Champion
Another of the sports leading young guns, the former World Champion drove faultlessly to lift the World Cup in Scotland last April and his one man stand in the PRI World Final against the Midnight Runners was most impressive, albeit controversial at the same time. Widely speculated to be in the front line of the ongoing war here which will probably sidetrack his chances to add another title to his collection but in all honesty getting on the podium is likely to the last thing on his mind when this one gets underway.

292 Keith Saunders (TSR)
There was a time when Keith was a regular visitor to West Row but 2008 saw him commit to the TSR scene where his love for racing top tin and always turning out smart motors saw him top the entertainers league as well as finish strongly in the King's Lynn track championship. However he seems unable to transform that form from the Norfolk Arena over to Mildenhall where he often struggles but he remains determined to impressive and will be back for another crack here. Will need a good finish and a troublefree start would be most useful and will be gunning for a top 10 which he should consider an achievement.

294 Lee Hughes (Spedeworth) Aldershot Open Champion
We saw more of Stuntman in 2008 than we had done in a fair while and a decent finish in the Masters at Dover adds him to this grid where he is likely to play a role. Many will expect fireworks between him and any of those associated with Team Black but he is likely to be a lively force whoever he is battling. Has a habit of going well at Mildenhall and might get a good finish if he stays out of trouble and certainly able to assist his team mates if given the opportunity.

331 Jason Jackson (PRI)
Love him or hate him there is no doubting that Boxer Jack is one of the sports greatest performers of the current era and destined to go down as an all time great. The former two time World Champion is also a former winner of this event and tends to thrive on the Mildenhall shale but is likely to start this race with his eyes on his rivals in the Blue Crew although again should things break his way and a chance of victory open up he'll grab it with both hands. A quality performer who will be well involved whatever role he plays.

341 Andy Jones (Autospeed) English Champion
The ever impressive Posh Wash star took his first championship victory last season as he lifted the BBA English Championship at Mendips to prove he is just a gifted racer as a crasher although his trips to Mildenhall tend to bring out his entertaining side as we are yet to see a strong championship finish from him at the shaleway yet. One to watch whereever he races and as the lone Posh Wash expected in the event and with a lack of the teams regular enemies here it will leave him free to do his own thing, whatever that might be but it will be interesting to chart.

348 Sonny Sherwood (Spedeworth) World Figure of 8 Champion
2009 has already started well for multi champion Mushy who on paper is another of the strong favourites and another who falls into the category of the sports finest at present. His big race form at Mildenhall is second to none as a former Supreme Champion and a history making former three time British Champion (the only driver to win the title more than once at West Row) but his big question will be will he be gunning for the title or more intent on continuing his issue with the Gladiators. With one member of the team guaranteed a starting place and the potential for another two to join him, then Mushy could have his hands full, although that certainly didn't stop him from a killer podium performance in the Accumulator Championship when he was more heavily outnumbered.

349 Lee Saunders (RDC)
Former Masters Champion Finbarr remained one of RDCs finest in 2008 where a more committed season saw him again excel with second in the Dover points plus third in the RDC chart which ensured a return to the Spedeworth World Final grid among other things. Still as entertaining as ever and it remains to be seen what his intentions here are as his visits to Suffolk are often more crash influenced than racing. Also will the presence of the Midnight Runners have any bearing as he has crossed paths with the team many times in the past at Mildenhall. Another who many will have an eye on.

361 Chris Walden (Skegness) British, UK Open and TSR World Champion
What a year 2008 was for Wally who lived up to his true potential with a red hot summer in which he followed up winning the dramatic BBA British at Mildenhall by lifting the Crash Attack UK Open at Skegness and TSR World Final at Lynn plus a podium finish in the World at Hednesford in October en route to retaining the track championship at King's Lynn. Without doubt one of TSR's finest at the moment and still getting better and better, especially at Mildenhall where he had struggled at for so long. Yet another serious threat to the title.

384 John Golden (PRI) Crasharama Champion
It was two visits to Taunton that brought Goldie the majority of his success in 2008 with a killer hat trick of victories at Crasharama as well as a top 10 finish in the Autospeed World Final to earn him a place here. Will form a potential three car Team Black presence which could provide plenty of fireworks with both Stinkbridge and the Condoms reprsented and you would expect Goldie to be well involved. This format of racing is perhaps not best suited to John at Mildenhall which means crashing might be more to his liking here but he is another who you can practical guarantee will be involved one way or another.

385 Roy Gedge (Skegness)
Another of the leading performers from TSR and Skegness while at the same time very underrated. Impressed greatly at the 1500cc Icebreaker where he played a big part in his teams victory and this will be yet another high profile appearance for him, something which is becoming an increasingly frequent thing. Likely to have his hands full with several other likely to have their eyes on the black cars he might not have the opportunity to chase a top 10 finish but is more than capable on the crashing front as well. This could be a big night for the Boy.

396 Scott Mowlam (Mendips)
Former Thunderbolt champion makes a welcome return to the Supreme grid after a couple of rotten appearances in years gone by. Played an important role in the four man Wallies brilliant display on Good Friday last year helping them to an excellent fourth place finish which underlines how his Mildenhall form has improved with time. One of the sports top names although often overlooked by many he is another quality addition to the grid and while some could consider him a dark horse for the title he is one not to bet against.

404 Rob Mills (Mendips)
Former World Champion is the second member of the Wallies to join this years Supreme Championship grid and another experienced racer who is yet another quality addition to this amaing grid. Perhaps not a favourite for the title owing to a lack of Mildenhall form these days but while championship form has been a little lacking in recent years this race is likely to bring out the best in Millsy and if he goes the distance he could be a contender but either way he'll look to make the most of this one.

409 Carl Pears (GMP)
The first of two Stinkbridge drivers guaranteed a place on the grid it will be great to see the ever entertaining Carlos on the big stage after numerous visits to Mildenhall over the years as a member of the supporting cast. Highly unlikely to start the race with any intention of chasing the title but more likely to be intent on causing as much havoc as possible you can almost guarantee the team will be well involved whether they are dishing it out or on the receiving end.

432 Mark Munson (RDC)
The sole member of the Gladiators guaranteed a place on the grid but likely to be joined by two of his team mates come start time. Many would expect Mental Mark to cross swords with Sonny Sherwood at some point but should he get his head down and concentrate on the race itself there is no reason why this long serving and experienced racer could not impress as he has done many times before at Mildenhall, a track where he usually goes well at.

439 Danny Sutton (Spedeworth) London Open and Supreme Champion
Last year was a breakout season for Sutty who followed up his London Open win by lifting the dramatic Supreme Championship 12 months ago, his season also including a fine top 10 finish in the Mildenhall track championship as well as a debut outing in the Spedeworth World Final where he narrowly missed out on a podium finish. Without doubt one of the sports finest in 2009 and will now start all title races as a contender and seems to excel at Mildenhall in the big race environment although more than capable of spoiling someone elses chances if his own disappear.

470 Pete Corbett (Buxton) Buxton Track Champion
Another driver to go on the list of vastly experienced racers to take part in this years Supreme championship, an enjoyable visit to the ORC team championship in November has boosted Pete's enthusiasm to visit Mildenhall where despite a lack of track and shale experience he should not be overlooked. Very crafty, very experienced, very cunning and usually very quick he could be a dark horse and worth an outside bet.

PostSubject: Re: Mildenhall supreme championship   Sat Mar 07, 2009 6:17 pm

472 Matt Cooke (Incarace) Incarace Points Champion
Although we've not seen too much of Matty at Mildenhall in recent months he has impressed here in the past and is another dark horse who shouldn't be discounted here. Won the Birmingham and Hednesford track championships in 2008 as well as the Incarace championship which was no mean feat given the amount of meetings required to achieve that. Given the potential for carnage in this race with so many issues in the boiling pot it could present a chance for Matty to slip under the radar and should he go the distance he could be a contender.

516 Carl Gould (Spedeworth) Spedeworth Points and Wreckfest Champion
Despite suffering a nagging injury throughout much of 2008 it was another great year for the dedicated Gouldy who was another front runner in this race last year. Still without a big championship result at Mildenhall which is well overdue and will be looking to improve on last years performance and win his biggest title to date. Impressed with his drive in the Ipswich World Final in November and is well up for the 2009 season which could put him in good form for this one. Another with not too many well known enemies here so if he's stays trouble free, albeit no easy task, he is another pre race favourite.

517 Scott Weldon (Mendips)
The very experienced member of the Warlords who is a multiple winner of the unlimited pre 68 title at Hednesford and Blockbuster title at Westworld. Tends to prefer the larger cars which could put him at a disadvantage here although he did qualify for this race in the 2litre BBA English at the wheel of a Cortina at Mendips. Would be great to see the famous Warlord colours on the grid here and another quality addition if he makes the trip.

525 Wes Starmer (RDC)
As always the new season sees many drivers come and go from RDC and other promotions and one of the most exciting additions to the RDC ranks this year is livewire Wes who has already started the year as he means to go on with some killer performances at Mildenhall, King's Lynn and Northampton. This will be his biggest championship race to date and he'll be looking to make the most of it. Capable of a top 10 finish if he commits to the cause but probably more likely to look to entertain and enhance his reputation which spells bad news for at least one championship contender.

528 Alan Hunt (Spedeworth)
Yet another of Spedeworths finest Jethro joined us for the Supreme last year and its pleasing to report he jumped at the chance to race again this season. His lack of Mildenhall form means he won't start the race as a favourite but like so many others this one is likely to be right up his street as it's bound to be hectic and a race where survival is more important than speed so don't rule him out although many fans might hope he has his entertaining head on as when Jethro is on one, there is few better.

592 Mark Marchant (PRI)
The third and final member of the Blue Crew returns to the venue where he got a serious beating from the Midnight Runners in August and he is likely to be looking for payback here. Like everyone involved in this war he won't start the race with his thoughts on trying to win the title but instead will be hell bent on helping his team get the upper hand in what is expected to be the latest chapter in this long running battle. And if his August 30 display is anything to go by then he won't be giving up without a hell of a fight.

617 Jack Overy (RDC) Autospeed and PRI World Champion
Another of the big signings for RDC in 2009 is the addition of reigning double world champion Jack Overy whose return to Mildenhall in May 2008 was one of the talking points of the season. Regardless of your opinion of the driver there is no denying he remains one of the sports finest and all time greats but he is still without a major win to his credit at Mildenhall, something which he must surely want to put right but it remains to be seen if he'll have a chance to do that here given how many well known enemies he is likely to be faced with. Guaranteed to be a man to watch.

673 Darren Fendley (TSR)
Every year the Supreme Championship line up produces one of the potential stars of tomorrow and Darren certainly fits that bill having been steadiy forging a reputation for himself on the TSR scene over the last couple of years. Almost always turns out a stunning car and impressed with his epic Peugeot 403 at Lynn last October but has also enjoyed plenty of success including being on the winning team at last years 1500cc Icebreaker, his fine finish in the TSR World Final which led to this meeting and he was also a race winner at the Winter Series. A dark horse on paper but don't rule out a top 10 finish at the least and expect this to the first of many high profile appearances.

730 Dean Mayes (Spedeworth)
Another of the sports top names at present Deano had a very different 2008 when compared to 2007. The former Spedeworth points, TSR World, BBA English and Champion of Champions joined the ranks of the Midnight Runners and enjoyed many crash happy meetings starting with this race last year where he was well involved. Potentially we see more of the same here as the Runners are expected to battle the Blue Crew but don't rule out a strong finish if given half a chance.

741 Luke Parfitt (Spedeworth)
Former Champion of Champions and another of the sports finest with many years of experience to his credit and still looking for a big win at Mildenhall having came close to taking the British in July before the rain hit. Another pre race favourite who will put all his years of race craft to good use and more than capable of surviving the chaos which is expected and the likelihood of a massive field of cars is certain to play to his strengths. As long as he goes the distance he will be a player come the end.

804 Ben Small (GMP)
The second of the Stinkbridge drivers who has qualified for this years race but a driver we have rarely, if ever, seen at Mildenhall but should he accept the invitation to compete here he is bound to be involved on the crashing front although would you expect anything less from a member of this team .

898 Andy Battle (RDC)
Another of the breakout stars in 2008 who went from rising star in 2007 to genuine main eventer last year where his fifth place in the RDC points earned a debut outing in the Spedeworth World Final having previously represented RDC in the 2litre World Final at Hednesford. A front runner for a limited time in the British and still chasing his first big win which many predict will come sooner rather than later. A very talented young gun who will be looking to cement his reputation and promise with a good showing here.

Page updated March 17: Another massive OWN update. 131 Barry Wade has withdrawn from the National Banger BBA Supreme Championship and is replaced by 349 Michael Allard and the driver preview section has been updated accordingly. Furthermore 37 Dave Lewis, 472 Matt Cooke, 617 Jack Overy and 844 Tom Haggerty have all confirmed their places this week and we have our first list of drivers booked in for the support races with almost 80 names on it.

Piglet and mazie on form and nemesis taking a whole load of hits but he sat tight took them and even waved em in. Pikey had two storming head on shots on the blue crew right infront of me. Levellers didn't see too many races all night but they were good in their opening races, thought young benno was flying in his heat (3rd or 4th at 1 stage i thought).
