A good 38 cars turned up for Barrows second Unlimited meeting of the season. Visitors came from Trackstar, GMP, Barford and Warton. Material to break up the usual Granada and Volvo fold, were Trackstar's visitor 05 Carlos Perez's Crown and 2 Jags while material of the night went to 431 Dean Steele who returned his Taunton Rover P4.
17 cars for heat 1 which began with 41 Dan Steele removing 243 Doug. A pile up formed on turn 2 with everyone piling in and included 119 Chip Kitchen jacking 330 Dan Kirkbride and 10 Rugrat doing the same to 33 Leeroy only to cop a heavy blitzing from 684 Alan Morphet. Kirkbride then circled the wrong way and half way down the back straight he met Morphet in a massive head on which snapped both cars impressively and ended both mens night. No real action to report of after this with Dan Steele taking the win.
Up to 21 cars for heat 2 which started in fine style with 36 Turkey following in 917 Derek Jones who had somehow returned his Brum Champion of Champions mullered MK2. Dean Steele then steamed 290 Trev as Perez arrived to jack Turkey. 291 Jason Hewlett, 130 Martin Naylor and 88 Wayne Morphet had it away on the centre. Perez then steamed 85 Toddy at the end of the back straight which allowed 30 Dougie Roberts to deliver a rated blitz to the back of the Blooz Boyz man's car and finish his night. Meanwhile the leading 115 Ken Hall kept catching the plating coming out of turn 2 and on the last lap this happened enough for second place man Dean Steele to take him out and take the win. To celebrate Deano jacked 159 Rick Gardener and then met Turkey head on, on the pit bend, on the run down lap.
21 cars came out for an all in heat 3. Turkey again kicked it off with a jacking of 728 Robbo before 49 put 134 Doug Behagg in. 14 Butch then ran Naylor in before the latter recovered to t-bone Toddy. Barford visitor 105 Darren Briggs then put 49 into team mate Ken Hall as Butch then put 59 into the luckless Hall. Briggs kept out of trouble to take the flag.
The all in Final had 18 cars and started with 151 Steven Scurr putting Turkey in. Roberts then did the same to Dan Steele but his brother Dean avenged this by jacking Roberts Vole estate. Dean then copped one on the nose from 321 Ashley Savidge which started a pile up on turn 4. Rugrat, who had worked wonders to get his blitzed MK2 back out, went in only to cop a jacking from Butch. Doug t-boned 310 Eno and met 414 Cleggy on the nose. He then carried on to put 573 Oggie in and then he waved his Krazy Krew team mate in 550 Stripit who duly obliged by delivering two t-bones and then meeting each other on the nose. They both got out and shook hands and Doug was declared winner.
8 cars managed to make the DD. I could only make out the highlights as light was poor. Dan Steele went in on the pile up on the home straight which allowed Butch to blitz him and Stripit then blitzed the latter. 666 Graham Charnley then went after Stripit but only managed to get one hit in and Stripit turned it round to do him on the nose and over the front wheel to finish him off and take the win.
That ended a brilliant meeting with some rated hits.
