A decent first list,can't see the Levellers doing it,Twellys baby is due around the time so not much chance of the Preds and ASBO haven't been mentioned. Goughy does reckon though that there are some good names interested.

Been PMing goffy,he is in contact with some top teams who he just needs to confirm with - If they're doing it they should be going up soon on the Brampton site.

Still unsure whether to go or not,be very wet most likely which will mean trudging through the mud and the racing will be slow. At the moment i'm going but i been forgetting all week,surely not a good sign.

Was a nice warm day,left newcastle in the rain and thick and returned this evening to thick fog and yet we are burnt from where we were.

Not so many cars and no visitors at all unless you include the pinks,decent enough for the amount and some nice wrecks. Think the hits on the primera in the first heat were a bit out of order,people have been saying on ovalchat that they're sick of seeing needless hits on dead cars and speaking to his dad later he said that he was waving the oncoming drivers away. Goffy seemed fired up and ready to entertain despite that and so did a few others.

We had a huge follow in on a yellow mondeo on turn 3,even bigger follow in on bish's mk3 cav which destroyed it and i expect to see that in wasted lol a TSB and outsiders train in the final,taz blew up goffy and then got blown up himself right infront of us at race control,the big kev memorial pile up and blowing up the primera,the destruction of shakey jnr in the DD and the different shots on the s25 crew's mondeo's by the TSB boys.

Think i made it 22 bangers in the end,1 driver had 2 cars both of which he raced. 12 cars were fresh for the meeting,the other 10 used.

Mostly mondeo's (2 Saloons,3 estates and the rest hatchbacks),a pair of fresh Volvo's (Saloon and Estate),a used Bluebird,a fresh Cav and 2 Primera's,1 used,1 fresh.

Smartest was Goffy's Vole with Toffo's Mondeo a close second.

2 litre Banger Big Kev Memorial Repot

Once again which seems to have come round so quick is the meeting held for the great man that will always be remembered by many as BIG KEV. today's meeting is once again in his honour and memory after he sadly passed away in 2005. boy time passes fast. the team meeting was his brain child and his wish as you all know now and as always it was not to disappoint. the pits saw a good spread of cars among different teams. no visiting teams in attendance , but would this stop it been an action packed day? like hell would it. its quality it seems not quantity that wins every time.

teams attending where stinkbridge, outsiders, common crushers, S25 crew , and a few single drivers that made up a team of some sort. many of the cars where to be the 2 litre of choice at the moment in many forms of mondeo's with a few choosing primera's, a lone blue bird (how different 12 months is as loads of them last year) and two volvo 240's. and one mk3 cavalier.

many smart cars where on display before the start of the day, nice primera's for 211 coco and 621 convict. but these where to be totally out shone today with ultra smart cars from 99 Goffy (240 volvo), and Toffo 65 (mondeo). the paint on both cars was immaculate which once again is a fitting tribute to Big Kev from his boys. Impact video's chose the smart car award with 99 Goffy been the chosen winner and 65 Toffo a very close second.

the day started with a parade lap of all cars to show respect for Kev and i'm sure he was watching down on his beloved track as the day went on the bigger the hits the hotter the weather got which again was so different from the down pour that greeted the teams for there first race last year.

HEAT 1

some twenty plus cars took to the track for heat one, the memorial race. this year to be full contact from the off and some chose to race rather than wreck as a fantastic trophy was up for grabs as well as the memorial shield to hold for a year. from the off the hits started. 621 getting spun and attacked by an outsider car. ray calladine then ran into him into his volvo estate to get a portion from 01 Kyle shires . few others got tangled but most got going again, 412 little raver getting spun on the next lap by pothead in the bluebird. 621 then attacked the 01 car that was in the back of the volvo but emerged faciing oncoming traffic just in time for a good head on from 60 Shakey Junior (common Crusher), this putting the 621 car against the tyres where it was double slammed by 73 Crucko and 97 at the same time which messed the 621 car up nicely. then unseen by me was a monster hit from 99 Goffy in the 211 coco primera putting the wheels to the cage and as 99 Goffy tried to break free from the crash it moved 211 into oncoming traffic to take a huge head on from person unseen by myself*. the reds coming out to get a very shaken coco from the car. on the restart some minor action as a good few where in with a chance of the win but just keeping ahead of the rest where the stinkbridge cars off 451 Willy Blackwell and 450 Glynn Platts. 455 closing down the 451 car and just been beaten over the line with 451 Willy Blackwell the victor. so once again the memorial race was taken by a stinkbridge driver. and good points scored for the pinks team A.

Heat 2

Smaller field for heat two after the heavy damage to some cars in the first race. this would not stop it from being lively. from the off 211 (in a fresh primera) why 211 had two cars for the day is beyond me but there you go. he got tangled with 65 Toffo. 211 sat across the track wedged against the tyres with the 65 car behind it. the 65 car failing to be able to move. unlucky for 211 after his monster hits in heat one would look out the window to see the first car round the bend had the roof fin number 451. and doing what 451 does best lined 211 up for an inch perfect hit in the back door which was very hard and fast spinning the 211 car around like a matchbox. the 65 car pushed some twenty yards also left him open to a stiff rear shot from 04 mick croft junior. then once again pothead picked up little raver putting him away causing his car to spin violently on impact. with the 412 driver in some distress from the hit brought the reds out. glady 412 was just winded and attention turned to the 211 driver who was in a lot of pain when he got out of his second wreck in as many races. St johns checked him out and believe apart from being dizzy and soar coco was unhurt. (did hear today as monday that he has broke some ribs but this is unconfirmed) if its true get well soon coco. would also like to thank 65 toffo who deserves a big han for one after taking a big hit with half his harness removed saw his only concern was both 412 and 211 and not even worrying about himself. well done 65 and also 451 willy blackwell came to check on the driver and in true spirit of the sport everyone was happy. the restart saw some action on the pit stop end with one of the outsiders gettin a stiff shot from a pink car then another outsider burying himself in the back of that. who won the race i'm not sure and so sorry to the winner. very hard to recall and work out who was in what car as some roof fins where not easy to read and most cars where lacking in sign writing which meant they didn't stand out so much.

heat 3

well how do you top heat two? again lower numbers than heat two i had my doubts that there would be much action, so glad i'm always wrong. it was to be a little roddy to start with. as they settled 451 led the way and all seemed calm with the 60 car making good ground through the field. 98 matty then took a late lundge on 450 to spin him and leave him open to a huge shot from 04 micky croft. this resulting in the scaryiest moment i have witnessed on track. on impact matty tottally disappeared from view. instantly the reds where waved with fears for the driver. a freak thing had occured, the impact had somehow dislodged the 98 cars left shoulder harness strap from the harness eye resulting in matty ending up in a strange angle with his bum still on the seat but his upper body in the passenger foot well. thankfully he was unhurt just a little dazed from it. the restart saw the common crushers young guns take up the running with 70 Ant Long flying opening up a great lead on the pack. 60 Shakey junior in a strong second place. then finding the 97 car being spun 70 decided to throw away his lead and give it a monster shot to blow up the 97 car tottaly. 70 car dying a few laps later with a blown engine. 60 took a good victory along way ahead of the rest.

Final / DD

the final was to be a five lap dash into a DD. a few chose to wait just for the DD. the final was fast on a dry track. 621 had worked wonders to get a very damaged car back out as also had ray calladine in the volvo. the final got off with 60 pushing 621 round until it finally spun on the straight. a few laps of racing passed. 742 Taz picked up 43 Bish and gave him a monster follow in folding the 43 cavalier very impressivly. the force of the impact ripping the roof clean off the B pillar. 43 got out ok. a few started there DD early as others raced for the final win which i believe 451 won. the dd then started with hits going in all over. the pinks worked well as a team picking off cars with some good shots also taking some from outsider cars. emerging from the middle 450 and 451 still running strongly, 450 then picked up 60 putting him in hard only for 60 to take a solid hit from 451, 451 then went in search of any other cars as 450 had died. 60 still running doing his best to get moving as pinned by the 450 car. 451 found 04 on the centre and hit it over the front wheel to end 04's day. 451 then ran at the 60 car again giving him a head on which ended 60's day. 451 Willy Blackwell declared the winner as last car moving and he pulled up on the start / finish line with his engine screaming so he just got out and let it rev till it blew up to end a very lively day for the bangers.

Stinkbridge Team A won the team event and 451 willy taking the memorial race, final and DD wins on the day


* - there were two shots,1 a head on from someone and a second a shot up the rear by 01 kyle which ended his day.
