THER’E BACK! Matron and her merry band of reprobates make a welcome return to Barford soil on Easter Sunday 8th April at 2pm for the Unlimited Bangers £600 Spring Open Championship, the first of five meetings for the blue ribband class of banger racing.

The Boxing Day Blitz saw no fewer than 44 cars turn out to do battle on the tight Barford oval with the likes of Mr Grumpy and Sparky delivering their share of destruction to the opposition. With £600 up for grabs there is every possibility that Mr Grumpy will get ‘sparky’ or that Sparky is just what Mr Grumpy will be! Whatever, it is likely that there will be plenty of action and hopefully some visitors from afar – yes I am talking about the Care Bears. Opps! Did I say the Care Bears when I meant the Brighton Bears. Come on guys, make the journey to the northern outpost and show the ‘northerners’ how its done southern style.

The word on the street is that at least one roller (that’s a Rolls Royce to anyone south of Nottingham), is to make an appearance and no doubt a disappearance once the green flag comes out. Yours truly in the commentary box will be looking out for a straight and well turned out car or a yank tank, well preferably both, so that we can single you out for the spectators to chant the immortal words ‘you’ve no place to hide and no where to run, you’re going fenceward!!’

So, if you’ve got what it takes or can give what it takes, then all roads lead to Barford Raceway on 8th April 2007. Not to turn up will be taken as a sign of weakness and that includes you Rob Speak. Tea Cup, I hope you have a car prepared, as no excuses will be tolerated!

474 matty and 119 chip from team v going and about 5 from the mob this time. 67 sparky comin again and he is fetchin a mate up with him. will all be in used stuff but its a good place to take a second hand car and get a good day out ov it.....

Streaky bringing his xantia,its the 1st 1 to be raced but he has raced it at skeggy already,can't see him doing that well in it but i'm sure he'll get a few hits in it before the unlimiteds show it up.

According to the eden guestbook matty is not coming now

Today my gears kept nacking up on the way home from rothbury,i'm still going to try and get to barford and eden this weekend but if you see a blue corsa on the road side make sure you stop to pick me up lol

Quite poor turnout of 10 cars plus 2 cars ready for racing tommorrrow,1 of which sparky used for the final.

10 out in heat 1,the mob v gravediggers happened on turn 2 which took out both diggers,a follow in started it off before other team members piled in.Then crash of the day when mr grumpy(easily driver of the day!)took out crannys tranny and had him across the track before matty went flying into the rear of the tranny pushing it onto grumpys jag and flipping both cars,great fun and jim thought so too,punching the air both when still inside the car and after climbing out.

8 returned for heat 2 but only 7 made the track as 115 from the diggers broke down at the gate.not much happened really apart from grumpy going after the tranny yet again this time spining him round and getting himself sandwhiched against the fence.

7 again for final,sparky had his cav out for this 1 which was very roddy until grumpy went after crann's tranny again lol spining him onto a tyre on the straight finishing both their races.Mad dan was spun later by matty and dan decided to go round the wrong way after matty but couldn't really get near him and it all calmed down(no real tension anyway)

7 yet again for the DD which was much better with grumpy failing to start the rest piled in and soon he was running,the tranny took a follow in and that was the end of him(although he later drove his van through the pits)that left just matty and the 4 mob cars since sparky broke down with mechanical trouble,matty was soon out of it after a head on and numberous shots to the back end leaving him a mess,it was soon down to 157 tam taes,152 mr grumpy and 454 mad dan but tam had expired on turn 2 so mad dan ran the length of the straight to deliver a solid shot to tam before grumpy did the same to dan.This ended the meeting and make me think thank god for mr grumpy!

Just a quick mention of the little lad air lifted to hospital,hope he's ok,seemed to be his back and took a while to get him out,think he might have been from buxton as he had a sharks sticker on the truck.Didn't see the incident myself but my dad did and said it looked nasty and judging by the post and how far the mini had gone it must have been.
Also sorry Deek,i got there and forgot which number car i was looking for(old age creeping in lol)i tryed looking for someone filming on the back straight but didn't see anyone.

I even spoke a bit scottish today lol talking to mr grumpy and i went to same i'll see ya soon and the soon came out scottish for some reason lol
