it is with great sadness that we write this, as some people are aware there was an incident at Ringwood Raceway tonight resulting in the meeting having to be stopped.

Those who were there with us we hope will understand that we cancelled the rest of the meeting due to a freak accident that happend during the thunder rod final tonight.

Our thoughts go to the parents of the child who was injured this evening due to a wheel going into the crowd causing an injury that we hope he will be strong enough to pull through.

No further details regarding the child or family involved nor that of the incident will be posted so please we ask for some decorum for the family involved and also the staff members first on the scene, we will however keep you all posted in due course as to what we hope will be a positive outcome for the child and family involved.

we would like to thank all staff and first aid involved in tonights incident and all those who stayed to help after the meeting.

we would also like to apologise to spectators and drivers for cancelling the meeting, but we had no alternative available and out of respect decided the meeting would be aborted.

We would like to also comment on those who got upset and asked for refunds, when you had no compassion for the child or family in question, as far as we are concerened his well being came first no matter your objections of the meeting being cut short, especially to those who travelled 150 miles to us and wanted all your travelling fuel and entry costs refunded, and your comments about where the final monies would go to!, money is far from our thoughts at this time and it should also be as far from your thoughts also .

Not very good news at all,shows how dangerous even watching a banger meeting can be. Back at Mildenhall in April we saw a bonnet bolt,plate and spinner fly into the crowd,luckily no one was hurt although that would have done some really serious damage.
